Sasquatch Report: Day 1

I’m at Sasquatch this weekend and after arriving late and hearing that the Gorge campground was ‘full’ (wtf!), I drove back over the bridge and setup my tent at a campground a few miles from the Gorge.

This camping site is college party central, for kids with trucks, boats and insane fascination with Snoop Dogg and high decibels at 3am.

Modest Mouse played the main stage to a setting sun and I proceeded to slam a 24oz, $11 Coors. I limped over to the Yeti stage (my ankle’s still broke) to see The Breeders play an awesome cover of ‘Happiness Is A Warm Gun’. Ok it was limping back to the main stage to see REM play, but first beer….what, they stopped selling beer?! Fail!

REM dealt with a soaked stage the best they could and lucky for us the rain stopped during the set. This was the second time REM played the Gorge but by the looks and sounds of it, the kids (those under 21) really don’t give a fuck about REM. But besides the kids, the show was a good ending to a crazy day.
